Procurement Manager – Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the purchase, negotiation and scheduling of materials for residential construction projects. The role works closely with Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Procure construction materials in line with programme requirements.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations to secure best quality and value.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and terms with suppliers.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors to review project specifications and procurement schedules.
• Liaise with Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure accurate, on‑time deliveries.
• Raise and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Monitor material costs, identify savings opportunities and report variances.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Support the Group procurement strategy and ensure consistent application across projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Construction Buyer, Purchasing Officer or similar procurement role in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and construction products.
• Experience working alongside Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and site teams.
• Commercially aware, proactive and solution‑focused.
• Excellent organisational, attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
