Product Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Product Security Engineer to join our Limerick‑based customer on a hybrid schedule (3 days remote, 2 days onsite). You will champion a security‑by‑design mindset across all product development activities, ensuring that security and privacy are embedded from the earliest stages.

Key responsibilities

• Define and embed secure‑by‑design practices throughout the SDLC, including security requirements, risk assessments, SBOM, OSS supply‑chain governance, vulnerability management and architecture reviews.
• Partner with R&D, Quality and global security teams to provide technical leadership in secure coding, threat modelling and remediation strategies.
• Lead the enhancement of security tools and processes, and manage relationships with internal teams, suppliers and partners.
• Support compliance within a regulated QMS environment and ensure current products remain protected against evolving threats.

• Self‑directed professional who works with minimal supervision and collaborates effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Positive, forward‑looking attitude with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in software development and a solid understanding of security standards and regulations.

Required skills

• Secure coding practices (e.g., Microsoft Secure Coding Standards)
• Threat modelling and risk assessment
• SBOM and open‑source supply‑chain governance
• Vulnerability management
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800‑53 and OWASP guidelines
