Production Manager – Food Processing

About the role

Troy Meats is seeking a Production Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations at its Tyrrellspass beef processing facility. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures production meets quality, safety, yield and regulatory standards while supporting export and growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities.
• Coordinate raw material flow and monitor equipment performance.
• Ensure output complies with BRC, Bord Bia, DAFM and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage staffing levels, train team members and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track and report key performance indicators such as yield, efficiency and waste.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics and senior management to fulfil customer orders and export requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in production or operations management within food processing or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and regulatory standards (BRC, Bord Bia, DAFM).
• Demonstrated team leadership, staff supervision and performance management skills.
• Competence in production planning, workflow optimisation and problem‑solving to drive efficiency and cost control.
• Ability to work on‑site in Tyrrellspass and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Relevant qualification in food science, engineering, operations management or equivalent practical experience.
• Specific experience in beef processing is required.
