Production Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Production Manager to join the operations team in Mayo. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will lead multiple manufacturing teams to ensure on‑time delivery, high quality, and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Manage department supervisors and support staff to achieve best‑in‑class safety, quality, and production results.
• Collaborate with other manufacturing operations managers and customers to meet quality commitments.
• Ensure products are delivered on schedule while meeting quality, yield, cost, and efficiency targets.
• Drive OPEX initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem‑solving methodologies to improve throughput and reduce waste.
• Work with maintenance teams to identify and resolve potential equipment issues.
• Coordinate inter‑departmental relationships and optimise resource utilisation.
• Lead, inspire, and develop the team to foster continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement a manufacturing budget aligned with the plant’s strategic plan.

Required profile

• 3rd‑level qualification (e.g., degree or equivalent).
• Leadership and people‑management experience in a GMP‑regulated facility.
• Proven track record leading OPEX, Lean, or continuous‑improvement projects.
• Financial and budget reporting experience.
• Ability to apply structured OPEX tools such as DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
