Production Supervisor

About the role

Oakpark Foods, a leading producer of turkey, pork and bacon for the Irish and UK markets, is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage the day‑to‑day operations of one of its state‑of‑the‑art facilities in Co. Tipperary. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient production while meeting quality and volume targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop production operators and team leaders on the shift.
• Drive department efficiency, monitor performance against in‑house targets and explain variances.
• Ensure manufacturing volume requirements are fulfilled.
• Organise and conduct monthly stock takes, guaranteeing accuracy.
• Manage employee performance and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain product traceability, handling of Bord Bia MPQAS and non‑MPQAS items, allergens and cross‑species procedures.
• Oversee quality checks and ensure compliance with the Quality Policy and relevant regulations.
• Identify training needs, arrange task training and re‑training as required.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to motivate teams, organise work and build effective relationships.
• Experience with metrics, continuous‑improvement programmes and problem‑solving.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with a track record of delivering results in cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food‑production quality systems and traceability procedures.
• Familiarity with allergen management and cross‑species production protocols.
• Understanding of Bord Bia MPQAS requirements.
