Project Engineer – Energy, Power & Renewables

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the delivery of major Energy, Power and Renewables infrastructure projects across the West of Ireland. Working closely with experienced Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key part in planning, coordinating and executing high‑profile projects in a fast‑growing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling and delivery of Energy, Power & Renewables projects.
• Coordinate engineering activities to meet specifications, programme requirements and quality standards.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and design documentation.
• Monitor project progress and report on programme, resources, costs and technical issues.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure effective coordination.
• Support procurement through technical enquiries, supplier evaluations and material deliveries.
• Prepare and manage project documentation such as RFIs, method statements and commissioning records.
• Attend site meetings, resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance with H&S, environmental and quality systems.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, handover and close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in a Project Engineering role within Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure, Construction or Renewables.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project delivery and construction processes.
• Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with engineering/project management software.
