Project Manager (PDI) – Design Coordination

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager (PDI) to join our Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) team in Athlone. You will coordinate design activities for water and wastewater treatment projects across Ireland, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design outputs for both PCI (Project Commencement Instruction) and PDI (Project Delivery Instruction) stages.
• Act as the main point of contact for issues across the project portfolio.
• Collaborate with clients, technical assurance, employer representatives and operations to deliver agreed scope.
• Provide senior management with timely updates on design progress, procurement, cost forecasts and variations.
• Monitor project programmes, manage procurement sheets and track scope commitments against baselines.
• Identify design risks, early warnings, claims and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Ensure all documentation is stored in approved systems such as BIM 360.
• Liaise with programme managers, designers, drafting teams and H&S managers to meet health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in M&E or civil engineering project execution.
• Degree, diploma or master’s level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary design teams and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIM 360 for document management.
