Public Procurement Specialist – Portlaoise

About the role
The Public Procurement Specialist will join a public sector organisation in Portlaoise, supporting the delivery of value‑for‑money outcomes through compliant procurement activities. Reporting to the procurement function, the role ensures that all tender processes meet EU and national regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage tender processes (RFT/RFQ) in line with public procurement guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with EU Directive 2014/24/EU and national procurement frameworks.
- Draft tender documentation, evaluation criteria, and contract award reports.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Support audits and maintain robust procurement records.
Required profile
- Proven experience in public sector or public procurement (essential).
- Strong knowledge of EU procurement law and frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Relevant third‑level qualification in procurement, law, or business (preferred).
- Public Procurement Law qualification or certification is an advantage.
