Purchasing & Stock Controller – Bray, Co. Wicklow

About the role

Our client in Bray, Co. Wicklow is seeking an experienced Purchasing & Stock Controller to manage procurement activities and maintain accurate inventory levels across a broad product range. The role ensures stock availability, cost efficiency and strong supplier performance to support smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders aligned with operational needs.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve supply issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Record all purchasing activity accurately in the Sage ERP system.
• Maintain accurate stock records, monitor inventory levels and replenish stock to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, stock reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Analyse stock usage to support forecasting and demand planning, ensuring FIFO rotation.
• Coordinate inbound deliveries and support warehouse operations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product, pricing and costing data and produce reports on stock, purchasing and supplier performance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, import/export logistics and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, stock control or supply chain roles.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Commercially aware, cost‑conscious and proactive problem‑solver.
• Excellent communication skills for internal teams and external suppliers.
• Experience in packaging, FMCG, food service, manufacturing or distribution is desirable.

Required skills

• Sage ERP for purchasing, stock control and reporting.
• Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reporting).
