QC Analyst – GMP Laboratory

About the role
We are seeking an experienced QC Analyst to join SGS’s Scientific In‑sourcing team in Ireland. The role involves testing pharmaceutical raw materials and drug substances in a GMP environment, primarily using GC and HPLC techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing of raw materials and drug substances according to client procedures and GMP standards.
- Operate and maintain GC, HPLC and other analytical equipment, ensuring regular calibration.
- Enter and review data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and verify results.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, housekeeping, and documentation (SOPs, methods, reports).
- Support investigations, deviations and laboratory audits, documenting findings.
- Train and qualify new analysts where appropriate.
- Communicate testing status and meet target dates.
Required profile
- Science degree (Level 7) in Chemistry or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years experience working in a GMP‑regulated laboratory.
- Ability to maintain current training records and work to “right first time” standards.
Required skills
- Gas Chromatography (GC) analysis.
- High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analysis.
- Use of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance.
- Equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Inventory and sample management.
- Preparation of SOPs, methods and analytical reports.
