QC Analyst – Pharmaceutical Testing (GMP)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced QC Analyst to join SGS’s Scientific In‑sourcing team in Ireland. The role involves testing pharmaceutical raw materials and drug substances in a GMP‑compliant laboratory, primarily using GC and HPLC techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of pharmaceutical substances according to client procedures and GMP regulations.
• Operate and maintain GC, HPLC and other analytical instruments, ensuring proper calibration and upkeep.
• Enter and review data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and generate accurate reports.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, housekeeping standards and audit readiness.
• Review and verify results generated by other analysts, and lead investigations on atypical findings.
• Write and update SOPs, methods, and other documentation as required.
• Support achievement of client and SGS performance indicators, including training, productivity and on‑time testing.

Required profile

• Science degree (Level 7) in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in a GMP‑regulated laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in an audit‑ready environment.
