QC Technical Trainer

About the role
The QC Technical Trainer designs, delivers and evaluates technical training programmes for Quality Control laboratory staff, ensuring competence aligns with regulatory, quality and safety standards. Reporting to the Lead Technical Trainer, you will work onsite at our Loughrea facility to support consistent capability development across manufacturing and technical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Lead training readiness and compliance activities for self‑inspections, internal audits and regulatory inspections (HPRA, FDA).
- Monitor, track and report training compliance across GMP areas, maintaining accurate QC training matrices and audit‑ready records.
- Develop and implement role‑specific training and competency plans for QC analysts in partnership with QC management and SMEs.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate training on GMP, Data Integrity (ALCOA+), laboratory best practices, analytical techniques, method training and inductions.
- Support onboarding and qualification of QC analysts on instrumentation (HPLC, GC, UV, dissolution) and systems (LIMS).
- Identify training gaps, competency risks and compliance issues, escalating and supporting investigations as needed.
- Standardise on‑the‑job training practices and ensure consistency in method training and analyst qualification.
- Partner with QC and QA teams to align training with approved methods, specifications and regulatory expectations.
- Own GMP‑related training modules (SOP, CI, COI, POI, Data Integrity, Compliance Awareness).
- Represent the training function in cross‑functional GMP, QC training and compliance meetings.
Required profile
- Degree (Level 7/8) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Analytical Science or a related scientific discipline.
- 3–5 years experience in a regulated Quality Control laboratory within the pharmaceutical or life‑sciences sector.
- Proven experience delivering technical or laboratory‑based training programmes.
