Quality Control Operative – Food Production

About the role

Dawn Meats is seeking a Quality Control Operative to join the Convenience Foods & Retail Quality Team at its Carrolls Cross facility. You will work closely with the production crew to ensure that every product meets strict food safety, hygiene and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hourly quality and due‑diligence checks on products across the Convenience Foods and CX Retail areas.
• Carry out daily pre‑start checks in production zones and record findings.
• Collect and submit meat and environmental samples for microbial testing.
• Report product quality data to the QC Team Lead and shift manager to drive continuous improvement.
• Support production staff on product safety, quality and traceability procedures.
• Participate in customer and third‑party audits, promoting an “Always Audit Ready” culture.
• Assist with projects defined by the QC Team Leader, Quality Supervisor or FSQ Managers.

Required profile

• Good command of English and strong communication abilities.
• Team‑oriented with problem‑solving skills and the initiative to act independently.
• Attention to detail, willingness to learn and flexibility to support QC teammates.
• Availability for a three‑shift pattern (days, evenings, mid‑shift) and occasional Saturdays.
• Own transport is preferred.
