Quality Engineer (6‑month Fixed‑Term Contract)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Quality Engineer on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to support its eye‑care product portfolio. You will apply engineering principles to improve and maintain product and process quality while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize Quality Engineering principles and problem‑solving skills to improve products and processes in line with business goals.
• Lead investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Apply risk management techniques to prevent failure modes and enhance process capability.
• Develop and maintain validation plans, equipment and test method validations, and related documentation.
• Use Quality Engineering tools throughout the product lifecycle.
• Review analytical methods, validation protocols, deviations, investigations, and impact assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality engineering or related role.
• Knowledge of FDA, medical‑device, GMP, and validation requirements.
• Experience with equipment and process validations.
• Understanding of statistical methods and risk management.
• Project‑management, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
• People‑management experience and a diploma in Business, Science or Engineering.
