Quality Lead – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Lead to own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) at a well‑established Irish food manufacturer. You will work closely with senior management, production teams and external regulators to ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the site’s QMS, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
• Lead the HACCP team and maintain HACCP, food safety and quality systems.
• Coordinate BRCGS, Bord Bia, customer and regulatory audits, driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate customer complaints, perform root‑cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Oversee microbiological and chemical testing programmes, product quality monitoring and calibration schedules.
• Deliver food safety training and promote quality awareness across the business.
• Produce KPI reports and present quality performance to senior management.
• Support new product development and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Degree or qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a quality role within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Quality Management Systems.
• Proven experience managing BRCGS, customer or regulatory audits.
• Excellent problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently while building strong cross‑departmental relationships.
