Quality Manager – Life Sciences Manufacturing

About the role

Ashland is seeking a proactive Quality Manager to lead both Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions at its Life Sciences facility in Mullingar, Ireland. Reporting to the Global Quality Director, you will be the key driver of quality culture, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop QA Specialists and QC Technicians/Analysts, ensuring proper resourcing and training.
• Act as the site Quality Management Representative during regulatory, certification, and customer audits.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 13485, EXCiPACT, ICH Q7 and GMP requirements.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with approved methods, SOPs, data integrity, and instrument qualification.
• Manage deviations, non‑conformances, CAPAs, change controls, complaints and risk‑management activities.
• Provide quality input for new product introductions, process changes, scale‑up, validation and technical transfers.

Required profile

• Strong leadership with experience supervising QA and QC teams.
• Deep understanding of GMP, QMS implementation and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent communication skills to represent the site to auditors and senior management.

Required skills

• Analytical techniques: Gas Chromatography (GC), ICP‑MS, Karl Fischer titration, potentiometric titration, Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), polarimetry.
• Quality standards: ISO 13485, EXCiPACT, ICH Q7, GMP.
• Quality tools: deviation handling, CAPA, change control, risk management, validation, technical transfer.
