Quality Technologist

About the role

The Quality Technologist will develop, maintain and continuously improve the quality and food‑safety systems that support our customers and comply with third‑party standards and legislation. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the role ensures product specifications, traceability and testing programmes are robust and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain detailed product specifications and quality standards, using customer‑specific software such as Micros, Hamilton Grant and FIND.
• Manage document control for the Quality Management System (QMS) and HACCP, updating check‑sheets, procedures and audit records as needed.
• Support internal and external audits (BRC, Department of Agriculture) and ensure full compliance with food‑safety regulations.
• Conduct raw material, in‑process and finished‑product testing, including microbiological, chemical, physical and organoleptic assessments.
• Report non‑conformances, lead root‑cause investigations and drive corrective actions across production and maintenance teams.
• Maintain traceability, manage quarantined inventory and oversee shelf‑life studies for chilled and frozen products.
• Collect and analyse KPI data, trend results and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate calibration of factory and testing equipment and oversee pest‑control records with external contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience with QMS and HACCP systems in a food‑production environment.
• Familiarity with BRC standards and relevant national food‑safety legislation.
• Ability to conduct internal and external audits and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience using statistical tools for KPI trending.
