Receiving Officer (Warehouse)

About the role

Newmont is seeking an experienced Receiving Officer to join its Supply Chain team on a 21/21 FIFO roster at the Lihir Operation in Papua New Guinea. The role ensures safe and efficient receipt, inspection, storage and distribution of materials that support mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and process inbound goods in line with safety, regulatory and quality standards.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and freight documentation, and record transactions in SAP.
• Store and distribute materials to site customers while maintaining high housekeeping standards.
• Identify hazards, participate in risk assessments and support incident‑prevention initiatives.
• Assist with stocktakes and continuous‑improvement projects to enhance inventory accuracy.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to safety and a positive safety culture.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, receiving or supply‑chain environment.
• Strong inventory control and stock‑management experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, freight providers and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (Materials Management) or a similar ERP/inventory system.
• Forklift Licence (LF) and experience operating forklifts safely.
• High attention to detail for accurate inventory records.
