Release Manager – Payments Programme

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Release Manager to join a major payments transformation programme for a leading banking client in Dublin. The role will oversee the end‑to‑end release lifecycle, ensuring smooth planning, coordination, deployment and transition of releases across a complex, cloud‑enabled payments environment while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the full release management process for the payments programme.
• Coordinate release planning across technology, operations, business and third‑party vendors.
• Ensure releases meet governance, risk, compliance and operational readiness standards.
• Maintain release calendars, deployment schedules and environment dependencies.
• Drive Service Design, Service Introduction and Service Transition activities to hand over to BAU support.
• Identify, manage and mitigate delivery and operational risks.
• Lead production deployments and support go‑live activities.
• Facilitate release governance forums and provide regular programme reporting.
• Support incident reviews, lessons‑learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 7‑10+ years in Project, Programme or Release Management within Financial Services.
• Proven experience managing complex technology programmes and service transition activities.
• Hands‑on experience delivering in cloud‑based environments (AWS and/or Azure).
• Strong background working in highly regulated banking or financial organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, workstreams and dependencies.
