Renewables Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Renewables Maintenance Technician to join a leading international renewable energy business in County Wexford. The role focuses on maintaining wind farm assets, ensuring reliability and performance of turbines and substations while supporting on‑call duties across Ireland and occasional travel in Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on wind turbines and associated substations.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical, diagnostic and safety inspections.
• Troubleshoot faults and execute repairs to minimise downtime.
• Monitor turbine performance, alarms and asset reliability.
• Complete technical reports and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Update maintenance histories and CMMS systems.
• Collaborate closely with operations, dispatch and technical teams.
• Ensure strict compliance with QHSE and safety procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Automation or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of technical maintenance experience in wind, utilities or industrial environments.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault‑finding capability.
• Experience reading electrical schematics.
• Experience with Senvion turbines (highly desirable) and exposure to other OEMs such as Enercon, Nordex, GE, Siemens or Vestas.
• HV/LV certifications or relevant electrical experience; practical high‑voltage maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work safely at height and good physical fitness for field work.
• Fluent English and a full driving licence.
