Research Development Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Research Development Consultant to act as a trusted advisor for leading organisations in the construction and built environment sector. You will leverage your construction background to help clients solve complex business challenges, improve operational performance, and maximise R&D tax incentives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and data collection to understand client organisations and workflows.
• Perform technical analysis, interpret data sets and present findings to project stakeholders.
• Interview client staff, management and external parties to map business processes.
• Facilitate focus groups and workshops to develop operational hypotheses.
• Prepare professional business proposals and executive presentations.
• Identify structural or financial issues, design solutions and oversee implementation programmes.
• Manage end‑to‑end projects, keeping clients informed of progress and milestones.
• Provide line management, mentorship and development to a small team of Business Analysts.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in an Irish construction firm or equivalent senior‑level construction/project management experience.
• BSc/MSc in Construction Management, Economics or a related technical field.
• Active membership in a professional body such as ICE, RICS, CIOB or APM (highly desirable).
• Irish citizenship, resident in Ireland, with a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
