Resident Medical Officer – Radiation Therapy

About the role

The Limerick Cancer Centre is seeking an enthusiastic Resident Medical Officer to join its multidisciplinary radiotherapy team. Based in Moyross, Co. Limerick, you will support high‑quality oncology care and contribute to the development of a new stereotactic radiotherapy programme and clinical trial portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical services in line with best‑practice guidelines for radiotherapy patients.
• Conduct clinical evaluations, communicate treatment plans, and collaborate with the oncology team.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely patient assessments.
• Participate in radiotherapy treatment planning, including contouring, plan evaluation, electron mark‑up and verification under supervision.
• Offer clinical cover for Consultant Radiation Oncologists as needed.
• Engage in risk management, audit, research activities and comply with radiation safety legislation.

Required profile

• Medical degree with eligibility to practice in Ireland.
• Interest in Radiation Oncology; prior oncology experience desirable but not mandatory.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification and willingness to maintain them.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and participation in mandatory training.
