Rigger/Dogman – Mining Operations

About the role

The Technician Dogging/Rigging will support mobile crane and fixed‑plant operations across Newmont’s Lihir gold mine. Working onsite, you will perform rigging and dogman tasks on equipment, structures and processing‑plant components while adhering to lift plans and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute rigging and dogman activities on fixed and mobile plant equipment, structures and processing‑facility components.
• Communicate daily with supervisors, crane operators and other teams, providing updates and escalating issues that could affect safety or schedule.
• Carry out preventative‑maintenance inspections of plant equipment and rigging gear in line with site procedures.
• Maintain the rigging shed, tools and equipment in a safe, serviceable condition.
• Support the development of fellow crew members by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in rigging and dogman work within a mining or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of lift plans, safety standards and site procedures.
• Ability to work effectively onsite in a remote location and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
