Room Leader – Early Years Educator

About the role

Little Harvard is seeking an experienced early years educator to lead a classroom team in its Donabate centre. The Room Leader will inspire staff, create a nurturing learning environment, and ensure high‑quality, play‑based education for children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the room team to deliver developmentally appropriate, play‑based learning.
• Plan, organise and oversee engaging activities aligned with early years curricula.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Model best practice in early years education and mentor team members.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and guardians.
• Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations and Little Harvard policies.
• Promote children’s social, emotional and cognitive development.

Required profile

• Minimum NFQ Level 6 in Childcare (Level 7/8 desirable).
• Previous experience in an early years setting.
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and a proactive attitude.
• Confidence in mentoring and guiding staff.
