Room Leader – Senior Educator (Early Years)

About the role

We are looking for a confident Lead Educator to head a room in a well‑established creche in Sligo. The role involves overseeing daily routines, delivering high‑quality early years education and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a classroom team, supporting staff in delivering the curriculum.
• Plan and implement age‑appropriate activities that meet Irish childcare standards.
• Maintain daily routines, health and safety procedures, and record‑keeping.
• Monitor children’s development and communicate progress to parents.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere for both children and staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience working in Early Years settings in Ireland.
• Strong knowledge of Irish childcare regulations and standards.
• Ability to lead, mentor and support a team.
• Passion for early childhood education and child development.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Required skills

• QQI Level 6 (or equivalent) qualification.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
