Sales Administrator – Part‑time (Engineering & Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking an organised and motivated Sales Administrator to join a busy engineering and manufacturing business on a part‑time, temp‑to‑perm basis. You will work closely with the Production Planner and other internal teams to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and support the smooth operation of sales and production planning.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately process customer orders and enter all information correctly.
• Produce quotations, invoices and other sales documentation.
• Maintain and update customer records using internal systems.
• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.
• Liaise with production, logistics and finance teams to ensure on‑schedule delivery.
• Monitor orders from receipt through dispatch, providing regular progress updates.
• Support the sales team by preparing reports and handling administrative tasks.
• Resolve customer queries promptly, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure work complies with company procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

Required profile

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• At least one year’s experience in sales administration or customer service within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, flexible and proactive attitude.

• Experience with MRP or ERP systems (desirable)
• Familiarity with CRM software (desirable)
