Security Engineer, Vulnerability Coordination Center

About the role

Google's Security team is looking for a Security Engineer to join the Vulnerability Coordination Center in Ireland. You will help protect Google’s users and developers by monitoring systems for threats, coordinating vulnerability remediation, and building automated security workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and mature cross‑company processes for vulnerability management, including SLAs, discovery, reporting, and role definitions.
• Coordinate the resolution of vulnerability‑related issues across internal teams and external industry partners.
• Work with software engineers and subject‑matter experts to proactively identify and fix security flaws.
• Ensure compliance with legal mandates, internal security, and privacy policies.
• Automate security workflows and develop tooling to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in security assessments, design reviews, threat modeling, or security engineering.
• 2+ years of experience coding in one or more general‑purpose languages.
• Strong problem‑solving, investigative, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask.
