Security Operations Manager – Lead Global SOC Team

About the role

This position leads a globally distributed Security Operations Centre (SOC) for a large professional services organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring 24/7 security monitoring, incident response readiness, and continuous improvement of SOC processes across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop an international Security Operations team operating in a follow‑the‑sun model.
• Oversee security monitoring, alert triage, threat hunting and incident response activities.
• Act as senior escalation point during significant cyber security incidents.
• Drive SOC maturity initiatives focusing on automation, process optimisation and operational effectiveness.
• Develop and monitor security metrics and reporting.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts with technical teams.
• Support audits, control testing and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, cloud, application, risk and audit stakeholders globally.
• Maintain up‑to‑date operational processes, documentation and knowledge‑sharing practices.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Security Operations, Incident Response or SOC environments.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing technical cyber security teams in large‑scale or global organisations.
• Experience working in highly regulated, governance‑driven environments.
• Strong knowledge of security monitoring, threat detection and incident response processes.
• Ability to balance operational delivery with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing technical and non‑technical audiences.
