Senior Accountant – Galway

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our leading accountancy and business advisory practice in Galway. The role offers the chance to manage your own portfolio of SME clients, provide high‑quality accounting and advisory services, and develop long‑term relationships. You will work closely with senior management and play a key part in the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of SME clients across multiple industries.
• Prepare complex annual statutory financial statements.
• Deliver accounting support and business advisory services.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.
• Review and coach junior team members on technical work.
• Support team performance, utilisation and profitability targets.
• Manage workloads efficiently while ensuring exceptional client service.
• Collaborate with senior management on business development initiatives.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working in an Irish accountancy practice.
• Proven track record preparing statutory financial statements.
• Experience managing an independent client portfolio.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Proactive, client‑focused attitude and ambition to progress within a professional services firm.
