Senior Android Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer to lead the design and development of secure, high-performance Android applications as part of a broader modernisation programme.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Shape modern Android architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability and the refactoring of legacy code.
• Integrate apps with external services, SDKs, hardware features, secure storage and networking.
• Support software quality through automated testing, performance optimisation, CI/CD pipelines and production monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct code reviews, mentor developers and participate in incident/root-cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong experience developing Android applications with Java and Kotlin.
• Proven knowledge of modern Android development practices, architectural patterns and secure coding standards.
• Experience modernising or refactoring legacy Android applications into modular, scalable architectures.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and performance optimisation.
• Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle and collaborate effectively with QA, product and engineering teams.
