Senior Android Engineer – Sensors

About the role

This senior position focuses on Android software development for advanced sensor technologies used in smartphones, IoT devices, wearables and smart glasses. The role covers the full product lifecycle, from research and development through validation and commercial deployment, and requires daily presence in the Cork office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test Android applications that collect sensor data and demonstrate new features.
• Create cross‑platform desktop tools (Windows and Linux) that communicate with Android devices using Java, Kotlin, Python, C++.NET and C#.
• Develop software for prototype and reference platforms across mobile, wearable and smart‑glasses form factors.
• Contribute to end‑to‑end data processing pipelines, including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimisation of production workflows.
• Collaborate with global, cross‑functional teams to support sensor algorithm development and commercialisation.
• Assist internal data‑collection campaigns and resolve application issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience, preferably with Android development.
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience building system‑level tools in C++ and Python.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub for source control.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
