Senior Android Software Engineer – Sensor Technologies

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join a global semiconductor and mobile‑technology leader in Cork. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from research and development to commercial deployment, building software that powers advanced sensor technologies in smartphones, wearables, smart glasses and IoT devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test Android applications for sensor data collection and feature demonstration.
• Build cross‑platform desktop tools (Windows and Linux) that communicate with Android devices for control, validation, visualisation and post‑processing.
• Develop Java‑based software components following industry‑standard design patterns.
• Contribute to end‑to‑end data‑processing pipeline design and production monitoring.
• Support global internal data‑collection campaigns and customer triage activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of software engineering experience with hands‑on Android application development.
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills in Java or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for system‑level tooling.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication.
