Senior Architectural Technologist

About the role

Stephen Carr Architects, an established practice in Wexford, is looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to lead the delivery of projects from planning permission through to construction completion. The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of tourism, hospitality, commercial and residential schemes across the south‑east of Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead detailed design, tender preparation, construction and hand‑over stages for assigned projects.
• Manage smaller projects independently, coordinating with the architect and wider project team.
• Act as Designer and PSDP, preparing Preliminary Health & Safety Plans and maintaining Safety Files.
• Coordinate civil/structural, fire, access, mechanical and electrical consultants during design and construction.
• Contribute to interior design concepts where required.

Required profile

• Minimum 9 years’ experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• At least 3 years in a senior or independent role leading design and construction delivery.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Control Regulations and BCMS processes.
• Proactive, self‑motivated with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Long‑term commitment to the practice and ability to act as an ambassador.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience preparing health & safety documentation (PSD, safety files).
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams.
