Senior AWS Cloud Infrastructure/Systems Engineer

About the role

Armac, a SaaS provider for the aerospace industry, is looking for a senior AWS Systems Engineer to own and evolve its production and lower environments. The role is hands‑on, independent and focused on security, scalability, resilience and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation) across multiple environments.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, CodeBuild), AMI creation and automated patching.
• Automate provisioning and operational tasks with Python, Bash and AWS CLI.
• Implement high‑availability, disaster‑recovery, capacity‑planning and performance‑tuning processes.
• Monitor systems, respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Support compliance (SOC II, ISO‑27001/2) and conduct security assessments, vulnerability remediation and alert handling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of AWS infrastructure engineering experience in a production SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to work independently, take technical ownership and guide best‑practice adoption.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, VPC, Route53, ELB, IAM, RDS (MariaDB), EFS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SSM, KMS, SNS, SQS, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Backup.
• Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation.
• Linux system administration (Ubuntu).
• Scripting in Python and Bash.
• Git version control and AWS CLI.
