Senior Business Development Manager – Freight & Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive high‑value commercial growth for a global freight forwarding leader expanding its Irish division. You will own the end‑to‑end sales cycle, from prospecting to contract negotiation, and work closely with operations to ensure seamless client onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pitch and close high‑value accounts across the Irish logistics market.
• Design bespoke multimodal freight solutions (air, ocean, road) that address complex supply‑chain challenges.
• Lead strategic bidding processes, including RFQs and contract proposals.
• Maintain a robust pipeline through proactive CRM management and disciplined commercial activity.
• Engage C‑suite stakeholders and build lasting partnerships with logistics managers and senior executives.
• Collaborate with internal operations teams to guarantee smooth transition and execution for new clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a sales or business development role within an Irish freight forwarding environment.
• Demonstrated track record of hunting and winning new multimodal commercial business.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to protect profitability and margins.
• Self‑starting attitude with the discipline to build a pipeline from scratch.
