Senior Buyer

About the role

Boston Scientific is looking for a highly motivated Senior Buyer to join its operations team at the Clonmel site. The role focuses on purchasing raw materials, managing inventory, and supporting product development in a regulated medical-device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor raw-material flow from procurement through production, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
• Create and manage purchase orders in SAP S4, maintaining data governance for all material records.
• Interpret component specifications and engineering drawings to communicate requirements to suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, leading early-supplier involvement for new product launches.
• Coordinate first-article inspections, validations and issue resolution with suppliers.
• Support cost-effective sourcing while balancing service and quality priorities.

Required profile

• Minimum Hons Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
• At least 4 years of raw-material purchasing experience in a highly regulated manufacturing setting (medical device or pharma).
• Proven ability to work autonomously, solve problems and communicate with all organisational levels.
• Experience leading or delegating tasks within a team.

Required skills

• Proficient use of SAP S4 / S4Hana for purchasing activities.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Kinaxis Rapid Response.
• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Data-analytics and AI usage is an advantage.
