Senior Embedded Systems Engineer (Audio & Linux)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Linux‑based ARM platforms and audio technologies. The role involves designing, developing and debugging low‑level software for embedded devices, contributing to open‑source projects and ensuring high‑performance multimedia functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and debug firmware and application code on ARM SoCs running Linux, Zephyr and DSP environments.
• Design, implement and maintain Linux kernel and Zephyr device drivers, especially for audio peripherals.
• Integrate and optimize audio frameworks such as PipeWire and ALSA, handling playback, recording, voice activation and context detection.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on I2S, TDM, SoundWire, CODEC, speaker‑amp and digital‑microphone interfaces.
• Contribute to upstream open‑source projects, manage patches and ensure compliance with community processes.
• Analyze power and performance trade‑offs to meet embedded system constraints.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of professional experience in embedded system development and debugging on ARM or similar processors.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++ and Python.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux, Zephyr, and DSP platforms, including kernel and driver development.
• Solid background in audio stack development (PipeWire, ALSA) and familiarity with audio bus standards (I2S, TDM, SoundWire).
• Demonstrated contributions to open‑source projects and understanding of upstreaming workflows.
