Senior Engineer – Residential Construction (Tuam, Galway)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to lead site engineering activities on an 80‑unit residential development in Tuam, Co. Galway. This full‑time, two‑year fixed‑term position offers strong career stability and exposure to a high‑profile project.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site engineering across all residential elements.
• Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
• Manage setting‑out, surveying, and quality‑control processes on site.
• Monitor progress and support the Site/Project Manager with programme delivery.
• Maintain high health & safety standards and enforce company procedures.
• Review technical drawings and resolve engineering challenges.
• Support subcontractor management to meet schedule and quality expectations.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate site documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or strong Site Engineer on residential/commercial projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction processes and site engineering practices.
• Experience with setting‑out and relevant surveying equipment/software.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Focus on quality, safety and programme delivery.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced site environment.
