Senior Garden Designer – Lead Projects & Mentor Team

About the role

Online Garden Designs is seeking a senior garden designer to lead projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery. This studio‑based position combines client‑facing meetings, site visits and a strong digital workflow to create thoughtful, planting‑led outdoor spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Lead garden and landscape design projects from concept to completion.
• Produce high‑quality design packages including concept plans, planting plans and construction drawings.
• Attend client meetings and site visits, managing relationships confidently and professionally.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and collaborators.
• Supervise and/or carry out planting on projects.
• Contribute to and refine the studio’s design language, systems and workflow.
• Mentor and support junior designers.
• Help shape the future growth and structure of the studio.

Required profile

• A degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in garden design or landscape architecture.
• 3+ years’ professional experience in a design practice.
• Strong conceptual and spatial design ability with excellent planting design knowledge and ecological sensibility.
• Hands‑on horticultural experience, including planting implementation.
• Confidence delivering projects through construction to completion.
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to manage projects independently from start to finish.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and a full driving licence.
• Proactive, ambitious mindset with interest in studio growth.
