Senior GenAI and Azure Developer

About the role

Forvis Mazars is seeking a Senior GenAI and Azure Developer to design, develop and deploy generative AI and automation solutions for the firm. The role is remote and works closely with Ireland‑based teams, focusing on secure, scalable, production‑ready AI applications built on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Foundry.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop generative AI applications using Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search and related services, aligning solutions with business requirements.
• Build data and retrieval layers that ground AI outputs in enterprise content, including ingestion, ontologies, indexing, graph, search and permission‑aware access.
• Develop AI assistants and agent‑based solutions with pro‑code and low‑code approaches, integrating Microsoft 365, APIs and approved business systems.
• Implement testing, optimisation, monitoring and cost‑control measures to ensure quality, performance, security and compliance.
• Design and deploy Azure‑based solutions, selecting appropriate services such as Functions, App Service, Container Apps, Cosmos DB, Key Vault and API Management.
• Apply security‑by‑design and responsible AI principles, protecting data, preventing prompt injection and ensuring human review for sensitive actions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, IT, security, compliance and data‑protection teams to translate requirements into secure, maintainable solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience building generative AI solutions and a deep understanding of Azure architecture, security model and networking.
• Ability to move projects from proof‑of‑concept to secure production deployment and provide ongoing support.
• Strong knowledge of Azure landing zones, policies, environments and DevOps pipelines.
