Senior HR Business Partner – 12 Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to provide strategic HR leadership for a complex, multi‑site organisation on a 12‑month maternity cover. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will work closely with senior leaders to align people strategy with business objectives and drive organisational change.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to design and implement HR strategies that support organisational goals.
• Provide expert advice on workforce planning, succession planning and organisational development.
• Lead complex employee‑relations cases, investigations and disciplinary processes.
• Coach managers on performance management, development planning and compliance with employment law.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to address capability gaps and lead engagement initiatives.
• Deliver HR analytics and workforce insights to inform decision‑making and monitor key metrics such as turnover and engagement.
• Work with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations and Reward teams on cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a senior HR Business Partner or advisor in a large, multi‑site or complex organisation.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage change initiatives.
• Deep knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations and HR best practice.
• Strong analytical capability with experience using HR data to drive decisions.
• Experience in construction, engineering or project‑based environments is an advantage.
• Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; CIPD qualification desirable.
