Senior ICT Officer

About the role

Our client in Cork is looking for a Senior ICT Officer to join the ICT team on a permanent, onsite basis. The role is hands‑on and focuses on delivering reliable, secure ICT services across a busy operational environment, working closely with the ICT Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st‑ to 3rd‑line support for hardware, software and systems via remote, phone and deskside assistance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, escalating when necessary.
• Support and maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including identity, security, devices and collaboration tools.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory and virtualised infrastructure (VMware or Hyper‑V).
• Assist with network, desktop, server and AV environments, ensuring DNS, DHCP and VPN services are functional.
• Manage escalations with external vendors and service providers.
• Ensure systems are patched, secure and operating effectively.
• Participate in an on‑call rota and respond to high‑priority incidents.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of ICT services and infrastructure.

Required profile

• Hands‑on ICT professional with strong infrastructure and support experience.
• Proven experience across 1st‑ to 3rd‑line support levels.
• Ability to manage escalations and work with vendors.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
• Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Virtualisation platforms – VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Networking fundamentals – DNS, DHCP, VPN.
