About the role
The Data Protection Commission seeks a Senior Litigation Lawyer at Assistant Principal Higher level to lead and manage complex litigation arising from its statutory functions. This senior specialist will safeguard the Commission’s regulatory and enforcement objectives through expert legal representation and strategic advice.
Key responsibilities
- Manage high‑risk, high‑profile litigation before the Superior Courts, including judicial review, statutory appeals and enforcement actions.
- Develop and implement litigation strategy in line with the Commission’s governance framework.
- Provide senior‑level legal advice on enforcement strategy, regulatory decision‑making and legal risk for complex or novel matters.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors and act as the primary escalation point for litigation matters.
- Translate litigation considerations into practical regulatory advice and collaborate with investigative, policy and regulatory teams.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in public‑law litigation and managing complex, high‑stakes cases.
- Demonstrated professional judgment, autonomy and ability to make time‑critical decisions.
- Strong advisory capability across regulatory and enforcement contexts.
- Ability to work constructively with cross‑functional teams within a public‑sector environment.
