Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Join a leading medical device company as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, working on innovative components and modules for healthcare solutions. The role offers a hybrid or onsite work environment in Cork.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components for medical devices under minimal supervision.
• Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and produce subsystem-level designs, including prototyping and proof‑of‑concept work.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success.
• Follow industry standards, design controls, and risk management procedures, maintaining design history files and other documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in mechanical design.
• Understanding of customer needs, product use, and clinical procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GD&T and CAE tools for creating engineering drawings and models.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes applied to product design.
• Ability to communicate technical information and work effectively with manufacturing sites.
