About the role
The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) will support the Principal Medical Officer in delivering community medical services across a designated integrated services area. Based in the Department of Community Health, the SMO will contribute to the provision of health care for children, adolescents, older persons and individuals with physical, sensory or learning disabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Principal Medical Officer in planning and implementing community health programmes.
- Provide clinical services in child and adolescent health, immunisations, and care for older persons and people with disabilities.
- Collaborate with other Senior Medical Officers, Care Group Managers and Heads of Discipline to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Participate in the management of designated Care Groups at the community care level.
Required profile
- Experience working within a Department of Community Health or similar public health setting.
- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including managers and discipline heads.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality medical services to diverse population groups.
