Senior Moodle Developer

About the role
Brickfield Education Labs is seeking a senior, hands‑on Moodle developer to lead the technical delivery of its accessibility‑focused products. Reporting to the CTO and CEO, you will turn architectural direction into production‑ready Moodle code and guide projects from design to release.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and release high‑quality, well‑tested Moodle plugins, web services and integrations.
- Lead individual project delivery, including version upgrades, legacy refactoring, performance tuning and security enhancements.
- Translate the CTO’s technical direction into maintainable, production‑ready code.
- Mentor and support colleagues, sharing Moodle expertise across the team.
- Maintain production systems and assist the global client base in using Brickfield products.
- Collaborate with product, support and customers from concept through release.
- Build accessible software that complies with WCAG standards.
Required profile
- At least 8 years of senior Moodle development experience with deep knowledge of Moodle internals, plugin architecture and web services.
- Strong, modern PHP skills and solid object‑oriented design.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Mustache templating.
- Advanced SQL abilities with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Confidence using Git, RESTful APIs and integration work.
