Senior Production Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Production Manager to join the senior leadership team of a leading biotechnology company in Cork. This role oversees all manufacturing operations, driving safety, quality, service, cost, and sustainability performance while fostering a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all site production and manufacturing teams across fermentation, powder blending, spray drying, liquid formulation and external toll partners.
• Champion a "Safety First, Quality Always" mindset.
• Deliver operational KPIs for safety, quality, service, cost and productivity.
• Develop and execute site operational strategy aligned with business goals.
• Drive Lean, continuous improvement and cost‑optimisation initiatives.
• Manage talent development, succession planning and performance management.
• Oversee audits, investigations, compliance activities and corrective actions.
• Analyse production performance data and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and support key site projects.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of senior manufacturing or operations leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead large teams in high‑volume environments.
• Background in biotechnology, fermentation, pharmaceutical, chemical or food manufacturing.
• Strong track record in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Deep understanding of health & safety and quality compliance.
