Senior Project Manager – Pharmaceutical Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects for a global pharmaceutical manufacturer in Meath. The role involves overseeing GMP‑compliant capital projects, sterile/aseptic processing design, and start‑up activities within a cross‑functional engineering function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple complex engineering projects from initiation through completion.
• Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets and resource requirements.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including EPCM partners, trade partners, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply chain and commercial stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure deliverables meet company standards, compliance requirements and regulatory expectations.
• Manage dependencies, change requests and issue resolution.
• Track KPIs, project outcomes and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
• Support vendor and external partner coordination.
• Prepare executive‑level updates, reports and presentations.

Required profile

• B.Sc., M.Sc. or M.Eng. degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of post‑academic engineering experience.
• Strong background in aseptic or sterile processing design and start‑up environments.
• Extensive project management experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience coordinating EPCM partners, trade partners and cross‑functional site teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
