Senior Research Associate – The Future You Program

About the role
The University of New South Wales is seeking a Senior Research Associate (Level B) to lead research for the Future You program, which aims to shift perceptions of STEM among children aged 8‑12, their teachers, and families. This fixed‑term, part‑time position (28 hours/week) offers a salary of $127k‑$150k plus superannuation.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct independent or collaborative research on equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM.
- Design and execute systematic reviews and meta‑analyses aligned with the program’s Theory of Change.
- Carry out empirical studies evaluating the impact of program resources.
- Develop a personal research portfolio and draft independent research proposals.
- Mentor and supervise research trainees and students.
- Prepare and present research findings to funders, stakeholders and academic audiences.
Required profile
- Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research with limited supervision.
- Experience in systematic review, meta‑analysis, or related quantitative synthesis methods.
- Proven record of producing peer‑reviewed outputs or scholarly impact.
- Capacity to mentor students and junior researchers.
- Commitment to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM education.
