Senior Software Engineer (Sensors) – Android SDK, C++, Python

About the role

Join a global leader in semiconductor and mobile technology as a Senior Software Engineer in the Sensors Technology group. Based in Cork, you will work across the full product lifecycle, creating software that powers advanced sensor solutions for smartphones, wearables, smart glasses and IoT devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test Android applications for sensor data collection and feature demonstration.
• Build cross‑platform desktop tools (Windows and Linux) that communicate with Android devices for device control, data validation, visualisation and post‑processing.
• Develop Java‑based software components following industry‑standard design patterns.
• Contribute to end‑to‑end data‑processing pipeline design and production monitoring.
• Support global internal data‑collection campaigns and customer triage activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Hands‑on Android application development using the Android SDK.
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills in Java or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for system‑level tooling.
• Fluency with Git and GitHub.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
